Shipping policy

Here is a customized shipping policy tailored specifically for Nick's Organic Nursery.

Because you are selling live, fragile potato slips, your shipping policy needs to clearly explain when you ship and how customers should care for the plants the moment they arrive.

You can copy and paste this text directly into a new page on your Shopify store (under Online Store > Pages or Settings > Policies):

Nick's Organic Nursery – Shipping & Delivery Policy

Thank you for supporting our nursery! Because we deal exclusively in high-quality, live organic potato slips, our shipping process is carefully managed to ensure your plants arrive healthy, hydrated, and ready to thrive in your garden.

1. Processing & Shipping Schedules

  • Live Plant Shipping: To protect your plants from sitting in a cold or overheated delivery truck over the weekend, we only ship orders out on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • Processing Time: Orders placed Wednesday through Sunday will be carefully packaged and shipped out the following Monday or Tuesday.

  • Domestic Shipping Only: Due to strict agricultural regulations regarding live plants and soil, we currently only ship within the United States. We cannot ship internationally or to US territories.

2. Shipping Rates & Delivery Times

All orders are shipped via standard ground carriers (USPS or UPS) to ensure the fastest, safest delivery to your doorstep.

  • Standard Shipping: Delivers within 2–5 business days after leaving our nursery.

  • Shipping Rates: Calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery location and the weight of your order.

  • Tracking numbers will be emailed to you the moment your potato slips leave our nursery so you can monitor their arrival.

3. What to Do When Your Slips Arrive (Crucial Care)

Potato slips are living plants and can experience stress during transit. They may look slightly wilted or yellow upon arrival—this is completely normal!

  • Unpack Immediately: Please open your shipping box the moment it arrives. Do not leave live plants sitting in a hot mailbox or on a sunny porch.

  • Hydrate Your Plants: Place the roots or bottom ends of your slips into a small container of clean, room-temperature water for 24 hours before planting. This will rehydrate them and kickstart root growth.

4. Live Arrival Guarantee & Damaged Orders

We take great pride in our packaging, but transit issues can occasionally happen. We guarantee that your slips will arrive alive and viable if unpacked immediately.

  • If your plants arrive severely damaged, dead, or crushed, you must contact us at [Insert Your Support Email] within 48 hours of delivery.

  • To qualify for a replacement or a refund, please include your order number and clear photos of the damaged plants and the shipping box.

  • Because our products are live plants, we do not accept physical returns or exchanges once the plants have been shipped.
